These aren't hypothetical categories. Ontario's Human Rights Code, British Columbia's Human Rights Code, and their equivalents in every other province and territory treat family status, disability, and the other categories below as protected grounds, meaning a single sentence on a leasing call can be enough to trigger a complaint. Most leasing operators have no visibility into whether that sentence was ever said. KeyKonnect reads every call and tells you if it was.

01
Family & marital status
Questions about kids, marital status, or family plans. A prospect's family situation has no bearing on their eligibility as a tenant, and asking about it directly is one of the most common compliance triggers on a leasing call.
02
Disability & accommodation
How an agent responds when a prospect discloses a disability or requests an accommodation. The obligation isn't just what's said, it's whether the request gets acknowledged and routed correctly.
03
Race, ethnicity & national origin
Differences in tone, detail, or offer based on how someone sounds or where they're from. This flag catches disparate treatment, not just explicit language.
04
Age-related screening
Comments or questions that use a prospect's age, older or younger, as a filter for fit.
05
Religion & citizenship
Questions about religious practice, immigration status, or citizenship status that have no bearing on leasing eligibility.
06
Steering language
Suggesting specific units, floors, or buildings based on who a prospect is rather than what they asked for. Steering is one of the harder violations to self-detect because it rarely sounds overtly wrong in the moment.
Where the responsibility sits

Whether a person or an AI tool answers your leasing line, what they say on that call is your responsibility, not theirs. Most operators have no way of knowing what's actually being said on hundreds of calls a week.

KeyKonnect reads every one, so you do.

See what it flags on your own calls.
